The best App Store screenshot generator for game developers

Game screenshots sell the art. They're often landscape, light on text, and sometimes nothing more than a clean in-game capture. Four tools handle that well.

Do you want 3D renders or video as well as screenshots?

No. Use AppScreens. It has landscape layouts and both stores' sizes, for $99 a year.

Yes. Use Previewed. It renders 3D devices and MP4 clips, from $9.99 once.

The four tools worth considering

  • Screenshots.proPortrait and landscape, with every template freeFree, or $19/mo

AppScreens

AppScreens includes landscape layouts on Pro, along with panoramic designs and every iOS and Android size. It costs $99 a year and uploads the finished set to App Store Connect and Google Play.

A panoramic layout runs one scene across several slides, which suits a wide game world. Pro also includes 3D device frames and localizes captions into 80+ locales, so one design can cover several storefronts.

Screenshots.pro

Screenshots.pro supports portrait and landscape, and covers iPhone, iPad and Android devices. The free Basic plan includes every template and device. Standard, at $19 a month, adds 3D angles, custom fonts and localization.

Try the free plan on your real captures before you pay.

Previewed

Previewed renders devices in 3D and exports animated MP4 clips, which show a fast game better than still frames. Plus costs $9.99 once for 10 exports at 1080p or higher, including 3D and video.

The free Lite plan exports at 720p and requires attribution. That’s below App Store size, so plan on Plus for the store set. Pro costs $228 a year, removes the export limit and renders video at 60 frames a second.

Figma

If your screenshots are mostly the game itself, a free Figma file is enough. Drop in your captures, add a logo or a few words, and export at Apple’s sizes. You set every size by hand.

Apple’s design resources include device bezels for Figma, if you want a frame around the capture. Many games skip the frame entirely and let the art fill the screen.

What to do today

  1. Capture your best moments at full resolution, with the HUD hidden where it clutters the frame.
  2. Pick one orientation for the whole set and keep it on every slide.
  3. Lead with the screenshot that shows the core loop, and keep any text to a few words.

Common questions

Can I upload raw gameplay screenshots?
Yes. Apple accepts plain in-game captures at a supported size, and many games upload exactly that. A frame or caption is optional.
Can App Store screenshots be landscape?
Yes. Apple accepts landscape sizes for both iPhone and iPad screenshots.
Does StoreStudio work for games?
Only for portrait sets. It has no landscape layouts and no video, so most games are better served by the tools on this page.
